Anchorage Wolverines News Release
The Anchorage Wolverines started the season off HOT! The team finalized a 5-1 score against the Minnesota Wilderness with goals coming from Oliver Salo, Taisetsu Ushio, Fedya Nikalayenia, Wilson Dahlheimer and Cole Christian.
Salo gave the Anchorage Wolverines the fast advantage - putting the puck in the net in the first 52 seconds of the game.
The Wilderness' goal came late in the game with just five minutes left in regulation, Christian came in just two minutes later with the Wolverines' last goal.
In net for the Anchorage Wolverines was 6'7" Jozef Zilinic who held off 31 of the 32 shots against.
The two teams met on the ice six times last season - all resulting in the Minnesota Wilderness walking away with the win. The 2023-24 Anchorage Wolverines were quick to switch the narrative for this season.
The team will return to the ice Wednesday, Sept. 13 for the NAHL showcase in Minneapolis, Minnesota where they will take on the Rochester Jr. Americans.
