San Diego Riptide News Release
To all of our media, promotional and community partners who helped make these last six weeks of the Riptide season productive and eventful I say THANK YOU!
*Riptide Arena Football finished with an 8-8 record, the best record in the three year history of the team. The 'Tide went 7-3 the last 10 games following a 1-5 start. A valiant effort by Coach Mouse Davis and the guys!
*Our attendance increased slightly these last four games but our brand awareness increased big time!!
*On July 3 we raised $ 6,000.00 in one hour at our post game red, white and blue jersey auction. Minus expenses, we were able to make a donation to the North County Honor Fund for
$ 3,500.00.
*On July 24th we hosted the inaugural Riptide Tackle Hunger Food Drive and collected more than 750lbs of food. Next year our goal is to double that.
*On July 30th we collected almost 500 teddy bears and stuffed animals for the Law Enforcement Teddy Bear Drive to benefit Children's Hospital. Next year we hope to double that.
*We also raised some money for Becky's House with our half time ball toss.
While we are proud of our team's performance on the field and finishing .500, we are equally proud of our media partners, our promotional partners, our community partners and especially our fans for helping us make a difference in the community.
In the next month or so the Riptide will be moving to new corporate offices down the street at the Kobey's corporate office building. We are building out the office space with new computers, new offices, and video room for the team and new office for our coach. It is the mission of the San Diego Riptide to make a difference both on and off of the field.
If any of you need anything from the Riptide during this off-season please contact us. We are more than willing to participate in community activities.
