Texas Legends Announce Second Day of Tryouts for 2011-12 Season

Frisco, TX, OCT 4, 2011 - After a tremendous first set of tryouts last weekend at Prestonwood Baptist, The Texas Legends have announced a second tryout opportunity for their 2011-2012 season. The team will be holding a second open tryout for the coming season October 14 at IAD in Carrollton, TX (2800 N. Interstate 35e, Carrollton, TX).
The Legends tryouts give prospective players the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of President of Basketball Operations Spud Webb, General Manager Del Harris, and Assistant General Manager Nancy Lieberman. Participants will compete to earn an invitation to the team's training camp, which will begin in early November. Space is limited in the tryouts as the Legends hosted more than 125 participants at last season's event.
Open tryouts for the 2010-11 season included eventual Legends players such as Matt Rogers, Booker Woodfox, Chris Roberts, Rece Hampton, and Pierce Caldwell.
"In my mind the 'D' in 'D-league' stands for dreams, and this is an opportunity for players to have their professional dreams come true," Legends President of Basketball Operations Spud Webb commented. "Scouts from the Legends will be able to evaluate and potentially give opportunities for these young athletes to play domestically or internationally. We're excited to provide this opportunity to our young athletes looking for a chance to show the pros their stuff."
Applicants can pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure and release forms, in addition to a NBA D-League mandated $50 non-refundable fee by October 12, 2011, or while spots remain. The fee for day of registration will be $100. Pre-registration payments may be made by money order, cashier's check, cash, or via credit card.
