Tenth Annual SpikesFest Set for Sunday, March 13

(STATE COLLEGE, PA) - The State College Spikes will mark the end of winter with their annual indoor carnival, SpikesFest, on Sunday, March 13 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Penn State Indoor Multi-Sport Facility, located across from the Bryce Jordan Center on the Penn State campus. SpikesFest 2016, presented by Mount Nittany Health and WTAJ-TV, marks the tenth edition of the family event.

Admission is free for fans of all ages. Parking will be available in Lot 44, adjacent to the Multi-Sport Facility.

SpikesFest 2016 will bring the fun and excitement that comes with each home game indoors with a wide array of fun activities. The ballpark-style carnival features mascot appearances, kids' games, inflatables, performances by local entertainment groups, door prizes, and much more.

The Spikes will also partner with Mount Nittany Health to feature manageable wellness tips to keep kids and their families healthy and active. Additionally, the community will have a chance to learn more about Centre Moves, a community call-to-action encouraging everyone to get moving and be more active each day. Plus, one fan could "get LuCKy" at SpikesFest with the chance to win a brand new KIA from Lion Country Kia.

SpikesFest 2016 will also feature a silent auction of sports memorabilia and entertainment experiences with all proceeds to benefit The Foundation for Mount Nittany Medical Center. The auction will feature a number of affordable items from local sponsors and attractions, as well as collectible items from across the sports landscape. A full list of items up for bids will be available at StateCollegeSpikes.com prior to the auction.

In addition, fans will be afforded the opportunity to purchase ticket packages and experiences for the Spikes' 2016 home schedule, which begins on Saturday, June 18. The Spikes, the Class-A Short-Season affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals will host 38 nights of fun, affordable family entertainment and future Major League Baseball stars through September 4.
