Ten Sea Dogs Make CSS Final Rankings for 2015 NHL Draft

SAINT JOHN - Defenceman Jakub Zboril heads a list of ten Saint John Sea Dogs named to the NHL Central Scouting Service's final rankings for North American skaters for the 2015 NHL Draft.

That the most players listed of any team in the Canadian Hockey League.

Zboril, Thomas Chabot, Bailey Webster, Jack vanBoekel and Jason Bell are the Saint John defencemen on the CSS list. Forwards Nathan Noel, Adam Marsh, Samuel Dove-McFalls, Mathieu Joseph and Spencer Smallman are also listed.

Zboril is the top-ranked Sea Dog at 12th.

The 18-year-old rookie from Brno, Czech Republic, had 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points in 44 games. He finished 16th in rookie scoring in the QMJHL. He also had one goal and three points in five playoff games.

Chabot, 18, placed 16th on the list.

The Ste-Marie-de-Beauce, Quebec, native led all Sea Dog defencemen in scoring with 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points in 66 games in his second season with Saint John. He tied for 13th in scoring among rearguards in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and added one assist in five playoff games.

Noel is the first Sea Dog forward on the list, ranked 54th.

The 17-year-old from St. John's led the Sea Dogs in scoring with 24 goals and 38 assists for 62 points in 66 games. The second-year pivot tied for the team lead in playoff scoring with five goals and seven points in five games.

Marsh, 17, checks in right behind Noel at 55th.

The Chicago, Illinois, native had 24 goals and 44 points in 60 games. He placed tenth in rookie scoring in the QMJHL, and fourth in rookie goals scored.

Dove-McFalls is slotted in the 70th spot.

The 17-year-old Montreal-native had 14 goals and 34 points in 66 games in his second season with Saint John. He had one goal in five playoff games.

Webster is next at 122nd.

The Kelvin Grove, PEI, product had one goal and six points in 54 games in his first full season with the Sea Dogs. The 17-year-old was held without a point in two playoff games.

Joseph is listed 125th.

He had 21 goals and 42 points in 59 games in his second season, and led the Sea Dogs with a +18 rating. The 18-year-old product of Chambly, Quebec, chipped in with one goal and three points in five postseason games.

Smallman, 18, is 170th on the list.

In his third season with Saint John, the Fredericton-native had 23 goals and 56 points in 66 games. He added a goal and four points in five playoff contests.

VanBoekel comes in at 180.

The blueliner from Woodstock, Ontario, recorded nine assists in 48 games as a rookie with the Sea Dogs. The 19-year-old also appeared in five playoff games.

Bell is the final Saint John skater on the list at 187th.

The 17-year-old Montreal-native totaled 11 goals and 29 points in 63 games split between the Sea Dogs and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. He had one assist in three postseason games for Saint John.
