Teammate Of Maher, Leite Top Pick In Supplemental Draft

MILWAUKEE, WI (July 12, 2007) -- Thursday's MISL Supplemental Draft yielded a bevy of midfielders and goalkeepers for the Milwaukee Wave, who filled out their 40-man roster with 15 selections. Picking sixth in each round, the Wave took midfielders/second forwards with the first five selections, led by Joey Worthen. A forward for the Carolina Railhawks of the United Soccer League's First Division, Worthen has two goals and an assist in 14 games for the Railhawks. He is a teammate there of Wave players Anthony Maher and Marcio Leite. Worthen has Major League Soccer experience with Real Salt Lake.

The next four choices were Christopher Bagley of the USL-1 Portland Timbers, Brazilian free agent Jonathon Araujo Santos, Michael Ambersley of USL-1 Rochester Raging Rhinos and Joshua Gardner of USL-1 Seattle Sounders.

After taking target forward Warren Ukah of USL-1 Atlanta Silverbacks in the sixth round, the Wave grabbed four goalkeepers - Ben Dragavaon of Seattle, Chase Harrison of Rochester, John O'Hara of Carolina and Steve Reese of Portland.

The final Wave picks were: 11. Andre Schmid, forward, Seattle; 12. Kenji Treshuk, defender, Seattle; 13. Nigel Codrington, Cleveland City Stars, USL-2; 14. David Hague, forward, Portland; 15. Leca, defender, Brazil.

Training camp for the Wave begins in September. The 2007-08 MISL season begins Oct. 19.
