Tarver Invited to Blazers Training Camp

BOISE, Idaho, December 9, 2011 - The Idaho Stampede announced today that Seth Tarver (6-5, 222, Oregon State) accepted an invitation to the Portland Trail Blazers training camp. All NBA teams began camp today in anticipation of the 2011-12 NBA season.

Tarver played the first four games (four starts) of the season for the Stampede, averaging a team-high 15.3 points, shooting 51.0 percent from the field. The 2009-10 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year picked up 17 rebounds and six steals in four games for Idaho. Tarver tallied season highs of 22 points and seven rebounds on Dec. 2 against the Dakota Wizards.

Last year, Tarver was a Blazer training camp invitee, then played in 49 games (33 starts) for the Stampede, averaging 9.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per contest.

Idaho plays next tomorrow at the Los Angeles D-Fenders at 9 p.m. (MST). The Blazers have two preseason games on Dec. 19 and 21 before opening their 66-game schedule at home against the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 26.
