Tanabe to Tacoma, Landry activated from DL

Kodak, Tenn - The Seattle Mariners made the following roster moves Monday that affects the Jackson Generals roster. Catcher Carlton Tanabe has been sent to AAA Tacoma and OF Leon Landry has been activated from the 7-day DL.

LANDRY, 23, was placed on the DL on May 29th with a hand contusion suffered in the Generals game on May 28th. In 45 games, Landry is batting .217 with 5 home runs, 6 doubles, 18 RBI and 9 stolen bases. Landry was acquired by the Mariners from the Dodgers in a trade last year and was originally the Dodgers 3rd round pick in 2010 out of LSU.

TANABE, 21, heads to Tacoma which will be his third team in the Mariners minor league system this year (Jackson, Clinton). Tanabe played in 3 games for the Generals and batted .111 with 2 RBI. Tanabe was drafted by the Mariners in the 24th round of the 2009 draft out of Pearly City High School in Hawaii.

Jackson's roster currently is at 24 players, with 2 on the disabled list.
