The Generals held the Smokies scoreless for 12.1 innings in the double dip and it was their first doubleheader sweep of the season. The Generals finished off the five-game series at Tennessee with a 2-3 record.

Game 1:

After coming off the disabled list, Generals' designated hitter Leon Landry (2-4, R) picked up right where he left off offensively. Landry led off the game with a single to right. Gabriel Noriega (2-4, HR, 2 RBI) attempted to sacrifice Landry to second, but reached safely for an infield single to put runners on first and second. James Jones (1-4, RBI) continued the hit parade with an RBI single that also moved Noriega to third. With Jones on second and Noriega on third, John Hicks (2-3, RBI) plated Noriega as Jones was thrown out at the dish. Halfway through one, the Generals stranded the bases loaded, but pounded out an early 2-0 lead.

With a Jack Marder (1-3, R) lead-off single, Noriega tacked on two more Generals' runs with a two-run homer in the second frame. The homer was his first of the season. After the second frame, the Generals doubled their lead to four runs, 4-0 Jackson.

The final Generals run came across the plate in the third. With Leury Bonilla (1-2, R, BB) on second, Denny Almonte (1-3, RBI) contributed with an RBI single, 5-0 Jackson.

The 5-0 tally would hold to be the final. The win snapped a five game skid and marked the fifth shutout for the Generals this season.

Game 2:

After two quiet innings, the Generals struck first in the third. Patrick Brady (1-2, 2B, R) led off the inning with a double, then James Jones (1-2, RBI, R) traded places with Brady for the first run of the second game. The next Generals' hitter Gabriel Noriega (0-3) grounded back to the pitcher who attempted to get the lead runner at third, but instead threw the ball away. The throwing error gave the Generals their second run. Halfway through three, the Generals edged the Smokies 2-0.

It wasn't until after 12.1 innings of shutout baseball from the Generals that the Smokies plated their first run in the bottom of the sixth off the bat of Rafael Lopez.
