LAST NIGHT: The Tarpons ran into a red-hot Dunedin squad and dropped the series-opener, 9-2, on Friday night...The Blue Jays have now won 10 of their last 11 games...RHP Adonis Rosa (L, 9-3) logged a short start (3.0IP, 5H, 4ER, 4BB, 1K, 74P/40S)...Tampa cut into a 4-0 deficit when Rashad Crawford (1-for-4, 2B, R) and Angel Aguilar (1-for-4, 2B, RBI) hit back-to-back doubles in the 4th...RHP Yennsy Diaz (W, 3-2) held the Tarpons to 1ER in 5.0IP (3H, 1BB, 2K, 80P/48S)...LHP Justin Kamplain tossed a scoreless 4th before yielding runs in the 5th (1.1IP, 3H, 3ER, 1BB, 2K)...RHP Matt Frawley had a scoreless outing (2.2IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 4K, 2HB, WP)...Diego Castillo (2-for-3, 2B, HBP, R, SB) doubled and scored in the 8th...RHP Andrew Schwaab threw a perfect 8th before allowing runs in the 9th (2.0IP, 2H, 2ER, 1BB, 2K).

TROUBLE AT HOME: RHP Adonis Rosa lasted just 3.0IP for the second-straight home start. The 23-year-old is 2-3 with a 7.33 ERA in seven games (four starts) at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Meanwhile, Rosa is 7-0 with a 2.10 ERA in 10 games (eight starts) on the road.

STREAK SNAPPED: Brandon Wagner (0-for-4) failed to reach base safely for the first time since June 11th, snapping a 24-game on-base streak. During that stretch, Wagner hit .342 (27-for-79) with 20R, 3 doubles, 6HR, 20RBI, 18BB and 5HBP and has an OBP of .485.

VS. DUNEDIN: Tonight will be the 11th of 15 scheduled between the Tampa Tarpons and Dunedin Blue Jays. Tampa currently leads the season-series, 6-4, including 3-2 at GMS Field and 3-2 at Dunedin Stadium. Diego Castillo has played in all 10 matchups and is batting .343 (12-for-35) with 7R, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1HR, 5RBI, 1BB, 1HBP and 2SB in the series.

STRIKEOUT KINGS: Garrett Whitlock (8K) and Matt Wivinis (2K) combined for 10 strikeouts on Wednesday. Tampa pitchers have tallied double-digit strikeouts in 42 games this season, with the Tarpons going 25-17 in such games. Tampa, by far, leads the Florida State League in strikeouts, totaling 880K entering today. That is 93K more than the team ranked second (Clearwater - 787K). Tampa is averaging 9.67 K-per-game and is on pace for 1,354K, which would crush its own FSL single-season strikeout record set last season with 1,215K.

DIEHL TO DOUBLE-A: LHP Phillip Diehl's final performance with Tampa led to a promotion. On Tuesday, the 23-year-old struck out five of the six batters he faced in a pair of perfect innings. Diehl leaves the Florida State League ranking 1st in strikeouts (79K), 1st in K/9.0IP (14.61), 1st in fewest baserunners/9.0IP (9.25) and tied for 2nd in holds (6). The Ohio native joined Double-A Trenton on Friday after going 2-2 with 3 saves and a 3.14 ERA (48.2IP, 37H, 20R/17ER, 12BB, 79K, 2HR, 1HB) in 25 relief outings with the Tarpons.

ROAD TO RECOVERY: Both Estevan Florial and Keith Skinner began rehab assignments in the Gulf Coast League last week. So far, Florial is batting .478 (11-for-23) with 7R, 2HR, 2 2B's, 4BB, 7RBI and 4SB in seven games. Skinner batted .222 (2-for-9) with 2RBI, 2BB and a Sac-F in four GCL games before continuing his rehab with short-season Single-A Staten Island on Thursday, catching all nine innings while going 1-for-3 (R).

BABY BOMBERS: The Tarpons currently lead the league with 77 home runs, which is eight more than second on the list (Bradenton- 69HR).

SENSLEY'S SOLOS: On Friday, Steven Sensley clubbed his 13th home run (third with Tampa). All 13 have been solo home runs.

FOR STARTERS: RHP Rony Garcia (0-0, -.--) will make his Tarpons debut. Last time out, started for Single-A Charleston and took a no-decision at Columbia on 7/8 (5.1IP, 4H, 4ER, 2BB, 4K, 85P/57S)...Began the season with the RiverDogs, going 3-4 with a 4.18 ERA (71.IP, 73H, 44R/33ER, 13BB, 62S, 5HR, 6HB) in 14 starts.

2017: Combined at Rookie-level Pulaski and Single-A Charleston to go 2-3 with a 2.50 ERA (75.2IP, 63H, 29R/21ER, 17BB, 56K, 4HR) in 13 starts...opponents hit .225 (63-for-280)...allowed 3ER-or-fewer in each of his 13 starts...started the season with Pulaski, posting a 3.97 ERA (11.1IP, 11H, 7R/5ER, 2BB, 11K, 1HR) in two starts...was promoted to Charleston on 7/5 and went 2-3 with a 2.24 ERA (64.1IP, 53H, 22R/16ER, 15BB, 45K, 3HR) in 11 starts.
