8/26 Tampa at Daytona - Game 3 (of three) - Jackie Robinson Ballpark (Daytona Beach, FL) - 5:35 p.m.

Pitching Matchup: RHP Garrett Whitlock (5-3, 2.42) vs. LHP Scott Moss (15-3, 3.50).

LAST NIGHT: Despite tying a season-high with four fielding errors, the Tarpons evened the series in Daytona with a 5-4 win in 10 innings on Saturday night...Tampa gained a 4-0 lead, including a two-run homer by Dom Thompson-Williams (2-for-5, HR, 2RBI, R) in the 6th and and RBI single by Angel Aguilar (2-for-3, BB, RBI, SB, CS) in the 7th...RHP Domingo Germán started and held the Tortugas hitless over 3.0 scoreless IP (1BB, 5K)...LHP Justin Kamplain took the shutout into the 7th (3.0IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 6K)...Daytona rallied to tie the game against RHP Kaleb Ort in the 7th (1.1IP, 3H, 4R/3ER, 2BB, 1K)...Jason Lopez (1-for-4, 2R) scored the go-ahead run on a pair of wild pitches in the 10th...RHP Kyle Zurak (W, 3-2) logged a scoreless outing (2.2IP, 1H).

RBI MACHINE: Dom Thompson-WIlliams added 2RBI on Saturday, giving him 11RBI over his last five games. Since joining the Tarpons on May 21st, Thompson-Williams leads the Florida State League with 59RBI. The 23-year-old is batting .326 (29-for-89) with 18R, 4 doubles, 3 triples, 7HR, 25RBI and 12BB in August (23 games).

VS. DAYTONA: Tonight will be the 12th and final game scheduled between the Tampa Tarpons and Daytona Tortugas. The Tortugas currently lead the season-series, 6-5. Tampa is 2-3 in those games played at Jackie Robinson Ballpark. Estevan Florial has played in all 11 games in the series and is hitting .326 (15-for-46) with 10R, 2 doubles, 1HR, 5RBI, 5BB and 3SB against Daytona.

FLORIAL FLOWING: Estevan Florial drew three walks on Thursday, giving him 18BB in August (22 games). Since July 25th, the 20-year-old ranks first in Florida State League with 23BB and fifth with a .412 OBP. Florial also has multiple hits in seven of his last 13 games, batting .333 (18-for-54) with 5 doubles, 2HR and 10BB in that span.

RUTA'S RAKING: Over his last 35 games, Ben Ruta is batting .331 (44-for-133) with 22RBI and 15 runs scored. The 24-year-old also leads all Yankees minor-leaguers with 36 stolen bases.

BABY BOMBERS: Tampa leads the league with 103 home runs. No other team has more than 94.

1,000 K CLUB: The Tarpons' pitching staff became the first to reach 1,000 strikeouts in the Florida State League this season. Tampa leads the league in strikeouts, totaling 1,208K entering today. That is 87K more than the team ranked second (Clearwater - 1,121). Tampa is averaging 9.22 K-per-game and is on pace for 1,290K, which would beat its own FSL single-season strikeout record set last season with 1,215K.

STRIKEOUTS FOR A CAUSE: The Tarpons have partnered with the American Cancer Society. Throughout the month of August, each time a strikeout is recorded by a Tampa pitcher, money will be raised for cancer research. The Tarpons are asking fans to donate $1.00 for every time a Tampa pitcher strikes out an opposing batter in the 31 games scheduled for August. FOR STARTERS: RHP Garrett Whitlock (5-3, 2.42) will make his 13th start (14th appearance) with Tampa...Last time out, took a no-decision in a spot-start for Double-A Trenton on 8/18 (5.2IP, 7H, 2R/1ER, 2BB, 4K, 2HB, 103P/60S)...made a relief appearance (starting a 4/29 suspended game) for Trenton on 7/18, earning the win in his Thunder debut (5.0IP, 3H, 0R, 5BB, 0K, 89P/51S)...Spent time on the disabled list (5/26-6/3) after getting hit by a comebacker in a start at Florida on 5/25...Began the season with Single-A Charleston, going 2-2 with a 1.13 ERA (40.0IP, 23H, 5ER, 1HR, 2HB, 7BB, 44K) in seven starts with the RiverDogs...held opponents scoreless for 26-straight innings between his third start (4/17) and his seventh start (5/11)...left Charleston ranked second in the South Atlantic League in ERA and WHIP (0.75).

2017: Made his professional debut between the GCL Yankees West and Rookie-level Pulaski, combining to go 1-0 with a 3.77 ERA (14.1IP, 14H, 7R/6ER, 0BB, 22K, 1HR) in five games (three starts)...began the season in the GCL, recording 14K in 8.2IP over three starts (4H, 2R/1ER)...finished the year with two relief appearances at Pulaski (1-0, 7.94 ERA, 5.2IP, 5ER).

Personal: 22-years-old, 6-5, 190 - Snellville, GA...Selected by the Yankees in the 18th round in 2017 out of the University of Alabama-Birmingham...Pitched two seasons at UAB (2016-17), going 7-11 with two saves and a 3.56 ERA (111.1IP, 115H, 61R/44ER, 45BB, 90K) in 42 games (eight starts)...graduated from Providence Christian Academy (Ga.), where he was a 2015 Perfect Game Preseason All-America honorable mention...currently ranked as the No. 11 Yankees prospect by MLB Pipeline.
