YESTERDAY'S NEWS: Tampa's offense was stymied by Clearwater starter Connor Seabold as the Tarpons dropped the series-opener in Clearwater, 4-1...RHP Luis Cessa (L, 0-1) lasted just 1.2IP in his first rehab start (3H, 2ER, 4BB, 1K, 46P/19S)...scheduled starter RHP Nick Nelson made his first-career relief appearance (5.2IP, 7H, 2ER, 2BB, 4K, HB, WP)...Isiah Gilliam (1-for-3) broke up Seabold's perfect game bid with a one-out single in the 5th...Ryan Lidge (1-for-3, HR, RBI, R) homered in the 6th for Tampa's lone run (his 2nd HR)...Seabold (W, 3-4) held the Tarpons to four baserunners and tied a season-high with 9K's while logging his first-career complete game (9.0IP, 3H, 1ER, 1BB).

LET'S GO STREAKING: Isiah Gilliam singled in the 5th to extend his hitting streak to eight games. In that span, the 21-year-old is batting .355 (11-for-31) with 2HR and 5RBI. Meanwhile, Ryan Lidge homered in the 6th to give him hits in all six games in which he's played with Tampa.

3 TEAM RACE: Tampa is fighting to win the 1st-Half Florida State League North Division Title for the third-straight season. The Tarpons (34-30) are currently in a virtual tie for second with Daytona (32-28) while both teams sit 0.5GB of Lakeland (34-29) for first place. Tampa has six games remaining in the first half (3 @ CLR / 3 @ FTM) while the Tortugas (4 @ STL / 3 vs. PMB) and Flying Tigers (3 vs. JUP / 4 @ CHA) each have seven left.

VS. CLEARWATER: Tonight will be the fifth of 15 scheduled meetings between the Tampa Tarpons and Clearwater Threshers. The season-series is currently tied, 2-2. The Tarpons took two-of-three when the teams first met in Tampa on 4/20-22.

EASY BEING GREEN: For the eighth time in 11 starts, RHP Nick Green made a quality start on Sunday (6.0IP, 3H, 1ER, 2BB, 3K, HB, HR). The 23-year-old currently has five-straight outings of at least 6.0IP and currently leads the Florida State League with a 2.25 ERA.

BABY BOMBERS: The Tarpons smashed seven home runs in the weekend series against the Maraudres, including two apiece by Ben Ruta and Alexander Palma. Tampa currently lead the Florida State League with 54 home runs this season.

CESSA BEGINS REHAB: RHP Luis Cessa has joined the Tarpons on a Major League Rehabilitation Assignment. The Yankees placed Cessa on the disabled list on April 17 due to an oblique strain. The 26-year-old is expeted to throw 60 pitches today in a rehab start.

WAGNER NAMED ALL-STAR: Last Tuesday, the Florida State League announced that Brandon Wagner has been added to the North Division Roster of the 57th FSL All-Star Game. Wagner replaces Clearwater honoree Darick Hall after Hall was promoted to Double-A Reading on 6/1. Wagner becomes the eighth Tarpons player named an all-star. The Princeton, New Jersey native plans to compete in the Home Run Derby on Friday.

ALL-STARS ANNOUNCED: Seven Tarpons were announced as Florida State League Mid-Season All-Stars on Friday: RHP Trevor Stephan, RHP MIchael King, RHP David Sosebee and C Francisco Diaz were named despite having since been promoted to Double-A Trenton. Current Tampa players RHP Nick Green, LHP Trevor Lane and INF Diego Castillo were also selected.

2018 ALL-STAR WEEKEND TICKETS ON SALE NOW: For the first time in franchise history, Tampa will play host to the Florida State League All-Star Game. Neither the original Tarpons nor the Tampa Yankees had ever hosted the event. The Home Run Derby will be on Friday, June 15th and the 57th Annual FSL All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, June 16th at George M. Steinbrenner Field. FOR STARTERS: RHP Adonis Rosa (6-1-1, 3.33) will make his seventh start (12th appearance) of the season. Last time out, started and tallied a season-high 7K's over 6.0 shutout innings in a win vs. St. Lucie on 6/7 (5H, 0BB, HB, 85P/58S)...has allowed just 1ER over his last 15.1IP...is 3-1 with a 3.30 ERA (30.0IP, 33H, 17R/11ER, 11BB, 29K, 2HR, 2HB) in six starts...is 3-0 with a 3.38 ERA (21.1IP, 21H, 8ER, 5BB, 18K) as a reliever.

2017: Pitched primarily for Single-A Charleston, going 4-3 with two saves and a 3.04 ERA (83.0IP, 77H, 35R/28ER, 14BB, 79K, 8HR) in 21 games (eight starts)...was promoted to Single-A Tampa on 8/8 and won all three starts while posting a 4.32 ERA (16.2IP, 15H, 8ER, 4BB, 16K, 1HR)...also made two spot starts for Triple-A Scranton/WB on 6/17-G2 at Buffalo (W, 6.0IP, 6H, 0R, 0BB, 4K) and 7/18-G2 vs. Norfolk (ND, 6.0IP, 3H, 2ER, 1BB, 3K, 1HR)...overall, was 8-3 with two saves and a 3.06 ERA (111.2IP, 101H, 45R/38ER, 19BB, 102K, 10HR) in 26 games (13 starts)...had a 1.64 ERA (44.0IP, 8ER) in 13 outings as a reliever...also tossed 6.0 scoreless relief innings (4H, 0BB, 7K) in Game 1 of the FSL Semifinal Series at Dunedin...following the season, pitched for Cibao of the Dominican Winter League, going 1-1 with a 1.82 ERA (24.2IP, 14H, 6R/5ER, 8BB, 21K, 1HR) in nine games (three starts).
