TODAY'S GAMES: Games one and two of a four-game series against the Bradenton Marauders at Osceola County Stadium...Games four and five of a seven-game homestand against the Jupiter Hammerheads and Bradenton leading into the All-Star break (2-1)...Second of three series (12 games) between the two clubs in 2018, and first of two four-game sets in Kissimmee...The Fire Frogs and Marauders split a four-game series at LECOM Park from June 4-7...Florida finished 4-4 against Bradenton in 2017, including 3-1 at home.
TODAY'S STARTING PITCHERS: 22-year-old Tucker Davidson makes his 12th start of the season in game one against the Bradenton Marauders...The Amarillo, Texas native entered the 2018 season as the 13th- (Baseball America) and 23rd- (MLB.com) ranked prospect in the Atlanta Braves organization...The 6'2" southpaw did not factor into the decision of a 3-2 victory over the Marauders on June 6 at LECOM Park...The 2016 draft pick allowed two runs on six hits, a walk and two strikeouts across five innings on 91 pitches (56 strikes)...Tuesday will be Davidson's second career start against the Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate.
20-year-old Ian Anderson makes his 12th start of 2018 in the back end of the twin bill on Tuesday at Osceola County Stadium...The 6'3" hurler came into the campaign as the Atlanta Braves fifth-ranked prospect in both Baseball America and MLB.com, and is the 42nd- (Baseball America) and 51st- (MLB.com) overall rated prospect in baseball...The native of Rexford, N.Y. earned his first win of the season in a 4-3 victory over Bradenton at LECOM Park on June 7...The right-hander tied a career-high with seven innings pitched, allowing two runs on five hits, three walks and five strikeouts on a season-high, 99 pitches (60 strikes)...Tuesday will be Anderson's second career start against the Pittsburgh Pirates' affiliate.
BATS STAY HOT IN RUBBER MATCH VICTORY OVER JUPITER: Braxton Davidson continued to swing a hot stick on Sunday afternoon, as the Florida Fire Frogs' first baseman smashed his third home run of the series, and scored three times in the 7-5 victory over the Jupiter Hammerheads at Osceola County Stadium.
Brett Cumberland also went deep for the second time in the last four games, taking a 3-2 pitch over the wall in right to lead off the eighth inning.
POWER SURGE: Braxton Davidson, Shean Michel and Brett Cumberland all took deliveries from the Jupiter Hammerheads out of the park on Sunday afternoon, giving the Fire Frogs six homers over the last two days (three games)...The Atlanta Braves' affiliate has already smacked 12 dingers through 11 games in June, after collecting eight in May and 14 in April.
TURNING THE CORNER: Braxton Davidson owned the Hammerheads over the weekend, as the left-handed slugger finished the three-game series 6-for-9 with six runs, two doubles, three home runs, and seven RBI...All seven of the 21-year-old's RBI came with two outs in an inning...The North Carolina Native went deep in two of the three first innings, combining to drive in five runs in the opening frames...Davidson is off to a .342 start, and has an OPS of 1.182 in 11 games in June...The Florida State League named Davidson the player of the week for the week of June 4-10, after the first baseman posted a .400/.444/1.000 slash line to go along with four long balls, three doubles, eight RBI and seven runs scored...It has been the first time Davidson has earned a weekly award in his career.
OFF TO THE RACES: Ray-Patrick Didder stole two more bases on Sunday, and is now of to a perfect 14-for-14 start when swiping bags...The speedster stole 25 bases in 2017, but was caught stealing 13 times...The 39 steals places the 21-year-old at the top of the Fire Frogs' all-time list in the category, 13 more than Anferee Seymour's 26.
ALL-STAR SELECTIONS: The Florida State League announced its rosters for the North and South squads on June 1, and three Fire Frogs will represent the Atlanta Braves' High-A affiliate in Tampa on on June 16...Chad Sobotka, Cristian Pache and were selected divisional coaches, GMs, official scorers and broadcasters...Sobotka has since been replaced by right-handed pitcher Sixto Sanchez of the Clearwater Threshers...The Fire Frogs had a league-high, nine representatives in 2017.
