Bradenton Marauders News Release
BRADENTON, Fla. - For the third consecutive night at LECOM Park, the Bradenton Marauders dropped a contest to the visiting Tampa Tarpons, this time falling on 90's Night presented by Pepsi and the 25th Anniversary Celebration of the classic film "The Sandlot".
Tampa jumped out to an early lead for the third straight night on an Angel Aguilar solo home run in the top of the second inning to put the visitors ahead, a position they have held for the entirety of the series so far. Two more runs came around to score in the inning on a 2-RBI base knock for Tarpons shortstop Diego Castillo who finished the night two for five to bring his total mark in the series to seven for twelve heading into the final game Sunday. Estevan Florial doubled to lead off the top of the seventh inning, his third two-bagger of the series thus far, and was brought around on a Dom Thompson-Williams single to make the score 4-2 at that point, but Thompson-Williams was not done for the evening. The outfielder unloaded on a long ball in the top of the ninth for an extra insurance run in an eventual 5-2 win.
The only two runs for Bradenton both game in the bottom half of the fourth inning. After both Hunter Owen and Jason Delay got the frame started off with a pair of matching singles, Casey Hughston stroked the third single in a row off Tampa starter RHP Albert Abreu to bring home the first Marauders runs of the night, with the only other run coming in the form of Delay, who scampered home on a wild pitch from Abreu that ended the limited night offensively for the Bradenton Marauders.
The Marauders finish their four game home series at home against the Tarpons on Sunday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:00 in a pitching matchup that pits RHP Pedro Vasquez for the home side against RHP Deivi Garcia for Tampa.
