BENSENVILLE, IL-The Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League would like to announce the verbal commitment of defensemen Ian Tallet. Tallet will join the Crimson for the 2006-07 season.

Ian, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, becomes the fifth Steel player to make his collegiate commitment this season, fifty-seventh in franchise history. The 6' 2", 190-pound defensemen is in his first season in the United States Hockey League. Prior to joining the Steel, Tallet played for the St. Louis Blues Midget AAA team. Currently, Tallet has one point through 22 games along with 27 penalty minutes.

Harvard, located in historic Cambridge, MA, is a member of the ECACHL and competes against the likes of Cornell, Union and Yale.

"Ian has been a solid, strong defensemen for us," remarks Steel Head Coach/General Manager Chris Imes. "He was very patient in the recruiting process and Harvard will be a great fit for him. He is strong academically and that was very important to him in selecting a college. Harvard is getting a great player in Ian."
