Stampede Look to Extend Winning Streak Friday

The Sioux Falls Stampede will try and extend their home winning streak to nine games this Friday night when they face I-29 rival Sioux City at the Sioux Falls Arena. The Stampede are in first place in the West Division with a 16-3-0 record and have won five straight. The 16-3-0 record is the second best in franchise history. The 2000-01 team started 17-2-1.

Friday night is also Mueller Pallet's "Stampede Player Card" set giveaway night. This is the second of four sets that will be given out during the season. Be among the first 1,500 fans through the doors and receive a set of six (6) player cards, compliments of Muller Pallet's. Game time is 7:05 PM, with doors opening at 6:15 PM.

The Stampede will also be home this Saturday, December 3rd to face the Lincoln Stars at 7:05 PM. Tickets for both games still remain and can be purchased by clicking here or by visiting the Arena Box Office.

NODL IS KDLT'S ATHLETE-OF-THE-WEEK

Stampede forward Andreas Nödl has been named KDLT-TV's Athlete-of-the-Week. The Vienna, Austria native posted five points (4g, 1a) over the weekend in Chicago, including his second hat-trick of the season in Friday's 6-4 win. Nödl leads the league in goals scored with 16 and leads the Stampede in scoring with 25 points (16g, 9a). You can see KDLT's story on Nödl today on their 6 and 10 PM newscasts.

Hartzell Hopes to Return to Bench Friday

Stampede head coach/GM Kevin Hartzell was released from the hospital on Thanksgiving and is in good spirits after breaking three ribs last Tuesday in practice. He has informed the team that he is getting around better, but has been told by doctors to stay off the ice for at least a month. His status for Friday's home game is still questionable, but he hopes to be behind the bench. It will be a game time decision. Hartzell did not travel with the team this past weekend in Chicago.

The Stampede are 11-1-0 versus East Division opponents this year. Last year, the Stampede went just 12-11-1 against the East Division.

The Herd are the top defensive team in the USHL, posting a Goals-Against-Average of just 2.11

The Stampede have out scored their opponents 24-9 in the third period this season.

After three games last week, the Stampede are still home to the top two goalies in the league. Alex Kangas ranks first with a 8-1-0 record and a 1.98 GAA while John Murray is second with a 8-2-0 record and a 2.07 GAA.
