Takers Lose Venue Due To Weather
December 17, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Houston Takers News Release
The Houston Takers will not finish their season at the Reagan High School Pavillion because of the snow that they experienced during the game of their season opener. "We were notified that there were electrical difficulties tied into the furnace and we thought it would be unhealthy to have our fans in that arena," stated owner Larry Leonard.
The Houston Takers are the process of working a deal out with To God Be The Glory Gym to complete the season there. The games against the Texas City Rangers have been rescheduled January 31, 2009 and Febuary 16, 2009 and will face the South Texas Showboats in San Antonio, Texas December 19, 2008. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
