TACOMA, WASH.- Tacoma Defiance today announced that its Western Conference Quarterfinal match will be played on Sunday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Starfire Stadium, with Tacoma's opponent being announced next week. Tickets are currently on sale to next Sunday's match, which is also being streamed on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Having secured both the Pacific Division title and the second overall seed in the Western Conference earlier this month, Defiance will get the chance to select its opening round opponent due to MLS NEXT Pro's new playoff format. Tacoma will select either the fourth, fifth, sixth or seventh seed in the Western Conference once the table is finalized following Sunday's MLS NEXT Pro Decision Day.
Defiance concludes its 2023 regular season campaign this Sunday, September 24 against Whitecaps FC 2 at Starfire Stadium (2:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV).
