TUKWILA, WASH. - After a 4-2 road victory over Minnesota United FC 2 on August 25, Tacoma Defiance (11-5-8, 46 points) hosts Cascadia rival Timbers2 (10-13-1, 31 points) tonight at Starfire Stadium (8:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV). The two sides played to a 1-1 draw earlier this year on August 5 at Providence Park, with Defiance winning the ensuing shootout.

Tacoma can clinch a spot in the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs with a win or draw (regardless of the outcome of any potential shootout). Defiance can also clinch the Pacific Division with a win in regulation.

Following tonight's contest, Defiance stays at home to face Earthquakes II on Sunday, September 10 (7:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV).
