
Tacoma Defiance Draws 1-1 with LAFC2, Wins Shootout

Tacoma Defiance News Release
TUKWILA, WASH. - Tacoma Defiance (4-2-3, 18 points) drew 1-1 with LAFC2 (1-4-4, 7 points) Friday evening at Starfire Stadium. Tacoma won the ensuing shootout at the end of regulation to secure the extra point.
After a scoreless first half, Defiance got on the board first courtesy of an own goal in the 51st minute. Paul Rothrock crossed a looping ball into the area that found the feet of Sebastian Gomez, who fired a shot that deflected off LAFC2's Noah Dollenmayer for the opening goal.
LAFC2 answered back in the 81st minute, with Christian Torres jumping on a turnover and firing a shot into the back of the net.
In the ensuing shootout, Defiance converted its first three attempts as LAFC2 missed its first two. Following LAFC2's lone make, Defiance keeper Jacob Castro saved the visiting side's fourth try to secure the extra point.
Following today's result, Wade Webber's stays at home to take on St. Louis CITY 2 on Monday, June 5 (6:00 p.m. PT / Apple TV).
