Rangers Reach is proud to announce that the RTown Strong t-shirt campaign supporting the Food Bank of Waterloo Region has raised $3,412.50.
The proceeds from the fundraiser were presented to Kim Wilhelm, the Director of Development at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region (pictured on right), by Rangers Reach board member Lynne Short (pictured on left). The donation will provide 10,238 meals to individuals and families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We are grateful to Rangers Reach, the Kitchener Rangers, and the community for supporting and helping the one in 20 households in our community struggling to put food on the table," Wilhelm said. "The overwhelming success of the RTown Strong t-shirt initiative has provided additional support to the 34,552 people accessing food assistance in Waterloo Region."
The fundraiser was held in conjunction with the KW-Awesome collaboration, which was started by the owners of Civilian Screen Printing in Kitchener to support local businesses.
"The vision of Curt and Joe at Civilian Screen Printing to support local business during these unprecedented times has had a positive impact for some of the most vulnerable citizens in our community," Craig Campbell, the Executive Director of Rangers Reach, said.
"The Food Bank of Waterloo Region provides a phenomenal service to our community and we are proud to have been a partner in these efforts."
