T-Bones Split Series with Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones wrapped up a quick two-game road series with a 5-4 win over the Wichita Wingnuts at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium on Friday night.

The T-Bones started the scoring and secured their first lead of the season with a three-run fourth inning. Justin Bass started the rally with a one-out single, and veteran Matt Padgett drove in the first run of the season on his first regular-season hit as a T-Bone. Felix Molina went two-for-four with two stolen bases and chipped in an RBI single in the fourth. That scored Devin Goodwin and capped the three-run inning.

Wichita tied the game with three runs with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning, capped by a two-RBI double from CJ Ziegler.

T-Bones starting pitcher Aaron Meade (1-0) went seven innings, allowing three unearned runs on just four hits.

Brandon Jones and Brandon Pearl added RBI singles in the seventh and ninth innings, giving Kansas City a 5-3 lead.

Jhonny Montoya recorded his first save of the season allowing two hits and one run in the ninth.
