TULSA, OK, March 28, 2010 - The Albuquerque Thunderbirds came up short on Sunday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, losing to the 66ers, 100-84. Keith McLeod led the way for Albuquerque with 30 points and 9 rebounds.
Shane Edwards added 21 points and 8 rebounds for the T-Birds. Trey Gilder chipped in 11 points for Albuquerque.
The 66ers led 51-32 at the half. Albuquerque battled back in the third quarter, and trailed by 11 (72-61) heading into the fourth.
The T-Birds cut the lead to seven with 2:15 to play in the game on a layup from Keith McLeod. Those were the last points that Albuquerque would score, however, as Tulsa closed the game on a 9-0 run to notch the 16 point win.
Larry Owens led the way for Tulsa with 25 points.
Albuquerque shot 44.3% from the field for the game. Tulsa connected on 45.2% of its shots.
The loss is Albuquerque's eighth straight.
Albuquerque will be in action next Friday when the team travels to Reno to take on the Bighorns. The game will begin at 8 pm and will be broadcast on 610 The Sports Animal.
