Syracuse Silver Knights News Release

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- In a rematch of their last contest, the Silver Knights once again went head to head with the Florida Topics, this time back home at the Oncenter War Memorial. It was Florida who came out on top on Friday, winning by a score of 9-4.

The Tropics took the last game all the way to the bitter end, so this time they were seeking some quick retribution, and found it in the form of Marco Rodriguez as he go things started with the first goal of the game just 9:05 into the first quarter. The Silver Knights wouldn't take too kindly to that goal, however, as Nate Bourdeau would tie it up just about 4 minutes later.

Later in the game, Freddy Moojen would put the Tropics back on top with a goal of his own, followed by the Knights answering back yet again in the form of Kenardo Forbes. By the end of a wacky first quarter, it was all tied 2-2.

The Knights were in desperate need of someone to step up in a big way, so who better to turn to than the big 205 defender Jake Schindler. He would explode for the only goal of the 2nd quarter, sending the Silver Knights to the locker room up one goal 3-2. Then to kick off the second half, Schindler again would come in clutch with a goal just 1:12 into the 3rd quarter, and its 4-2

However, things would take a turn for the very worst from there for the Silver Knights. With 12:04 left in the 3rd, Anthony Arico would fire one past Andrew Coughlin to bring it back to within one goal. Less than a minute later, Victor Parreiras punched in one of his own, followed by Lucas Teixeira and Lucas Coutinho capping off a 4 goal barrage. The Tropics take a commanding lead from there 6-4.

If the Silver Knights though that the Tropics would take their foot off the pedal after a monster 3rd quarter, they would be sadly mistaken. The Tropics would continue to run up the score, with 4th quarter goals coming again from Victor Parreiras and Lucas Teixeira, as the Tropics would start to pull away, leading 8-4, sucking all the energy out of the Oncenter War Memorial. Then at the very end with 3:23 left in the game, Victor Parreiras' hat trick clinching goal would be the final nail in the coffin, as the Tropics win sizably 9-4.

This is the first game all season for the Silver Knights that has not been decided within one goal. Their next matchup is on Friday, December 15th at the PA Farm Show Arena, as they square off with the Harrisburg Heat, in the first of two back-to-back games. The Silver Knights will be back home for the latter of those games on December 29th.
