Syracuse Mets News Release
The Syracuse Chiefs return to Central New York from a seven-game Memorial-Day road trip on Tuesday, May 30th . The Chiefs will begin a six-game homestand, concluding Sunday, June 4th, as they take on the Charlotte Knights and Columbus Clippers.
Highlights of the six-game homestand include:
Thursday, June 1st (6:35 vs. Charlotte Knights; Triple-A Chicago White Sox): It's Return of the Zombies Night, presented by Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists & Operation Walk. Fans can participate in a pregame Zombie Walk, as the living dead take over NBT Bank Stadium. Operation Walk, the night's sponsor, is a not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization that provides free surgical treatments for patients in developing countries and in the United States. These patients suffer from debilitating bone and joint conditions, such as arthritis, and do not have access to medical care. Operation Walk also educates local orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and other health care professionals on the most advanced treatment of hip and knee joint diseases. Founded in 1994, Operation Walk teams have operated on hundreds of patients in Russia, Cuba, Nepal, China, the Philippines, Peru, Nicaragua, Mexico and the United States.
Fans can also enjoy a $1.00 Thursday, presented by 95X. Every Thursday home game, Hofmann hot dogs and Coca-Cola products are available for just $1, with Saranac, Labatt and Coors products and 1911 hard ciders available for just $2.
Friday, June 2nd (7:05 vs. Columbus Clippers; Triple-A Cleveland Indians): Faith and Family Night returns for the first time in more than three seasons. The night's special giveaway is a 2017 Chiefs team photo, presented by Burdick Mitsubishi at Driver's Village.
Chiefs players and coaches will be available to sign in a team autograph session from 5:45 to 6:15 on the concourse.
Don't forget to stay after the game for a Fireworks Friday presented by 93Q. June 2nd marks the first 7:05 Friday start of the season, in order to accommodate postgame fireworks.
Saturday, June 3rd (7:05 vs. Columbus Clippers): Head to the ballpark for Little League Night, presented by Hofmann Sausage Co. and Northwestern Mutual. Last season, the Chiefs sold out the stadium on their biggest night of the season. Little League players from across District 8, our community and our state fill the stadium and represent the future of the great game of baseball.
The first 2,000 kids 12 and under will receive a Chiefs replica jersey, and the night will feature the first Saturday Night Fireworks of the season. Before the game, Little League coaches and players will participate in an annual on-field parade, starting at approximately 6:20 p.m. Last year, more than 3,000 Little League players participated in this event. Tickets for Little League teams are free, courtesy of Hofmann Sausage Co. and Northwestern Mutual.
Sunday, June 4th (1:05 vs. Columbus Clippers): The Chiefs are proud to present the first ever Autism Awareness Day at NBT Bank Stadium.
Autism Awareness Day will feature a massive reduction on the sensory barrage associated with a normal sporting event. The Chiefs will lower the volume on the public address system for the entire game and ask fans to use spirit fingers instead of screaming for the mid-inning entertainment. The team will also provide sensory awareness kits, courtesy of the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation, and hold a special Jersey Auction to benefit organizations that support families with autism.
Chiefs players and coaches will wear the specialty autism-puzzle-piece jerseys during Sunday's game. Fans can bid on these jerseys at syracusechiefs.milbauctions.com from 12 noon on Sunday through 12 noon on Wednesday, June 7th . Fans who are interested in bidding on these specialty jerseys can participate online at the stadium or from home. Bidding can be done via cell phone, tablet or computer. Chiefs staff members will be available to assist fans in bidding during the game.
As always, Sundays are NBT Bank Family Sundays where kids eat free and run the bases after the game.
