Danish & Minaya Promoted to Chicago Today

UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte Knights right-handed pitchers Tyler Danish and Juan Minaya have both been recalled by the Chicago White Sox today. Minaya will take the roster spot of RHP Dylan Covey, who was placed on Chicago's 10-day disabled list. Danish will serve as Chicago's 26th player for today's doubleheader. He is scheduled to start the second game of the doubleheader.

Minaya and Danish become the eighth and ninth Charlotte Knights players promoted to the White Sox this season. RHP Tommy Kahnle (April 6), catcher Kevan Smith (April 13 & May 10), outfielder Willy Garcia (April 14 & May 2), RHP Mike Pelfrey (April 22), RHP Chris Beck (April 25), and LHP David Holmberg (May 4), RHP Gregory Infante (May 15), are the seven others who have all received promotions this year.

Danish, 22, has compiled a 1-3 record with a 3.15 ERA in eight starts with the Knights this season. The Brandon, FL native compiled a 1-1 record with a 1.96 ERA in four May starts. He entered the 2017 season ranked by Baseball America as the 18th prospect in Chicago's system.

Minaya, 26, has not allowed a run over his last five appearances and has posted a 1-0 record with a 1.23 ERA in 10 games for the Knights this season.

The Knights will host the Buffalo Bisons (Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays) in a four-game series starting tonight at 7:05 p.m. from BB&T Ballpark. RHP Reynaldo Lopez will get the start for the Knights. Pre-game radio coverage of Friday's game will begin at 6:50 p.m. on ESPN Charlotte (730 AM) and CharlotteKnights.com. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and Knights radio broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action.
