
Sylvia Fowles, Epiphanny Prince and Courtney Vandersloot Named to 2011 WNBA All-Star Team

CHICAGO, July 20, 2011 - The Chicago Sky's Sylvia Fowles, Epiphanny Prince and Courtney Vandersloot were selected to the WNBA's 2011 Eastern Conference All-Star team as reserves. The league's 12 coaches made the selections after fans voted in the starting five.
Fowles, the WNBA's leading scorer and top shot blocker will make her third straight WNBA All-Star appearance. Guards Prince and Vandersloot will each make their first all-star appearance.
The 2011 WNBA All-Star Game presented by adidas will be nationally televised on ABC on Saturday, July 23 at 2:30 pm CDT.
Fowles is averaging 20.6, 9.8 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game. Fowles has recorded 10 double-doubles so far this season. She also scored 20 or more points in seven consecutive games from June 10 to June 25.
Prince has started every game for the Sky and is averaging 16.6 points per game (sixth in the WNBA). The Sky shooting guard leads the league in steals at 3.3 per game and is on pace to set the all-time mark for a season in that category.
Rookie point guard Vandersloot averages 8.8 points and 4.8 assists per game, the most assists among rookies and seventh most overall in the league. Vandersloot scored a career high 18 points against Connecticut at the Sky home opener, hitting four three pointers and dishing out 5 assists.
Starters for the Eastern Conference in the WNBA All-Star Game, which were determined by a fan vote, are Indiana's Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas; New York's Cappie Pondexter; Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry; and Connecticut's Tina Charles. The remaining Eastern Conference reserves include New York's Essence Carson, Washington's Crystal Langhorne and Connecticut's Renee Montgomery.
The Western Conference starters are Seattle's Sue Bird and Swin Cash; Los Angeles' Candace Parker; Minnesota's Maya Moore; and Diana Taurasi from Phoenix. The reserves include: San Antonio's Danielle Adams and Becky Hammon; Minnesota's Seimone Augustus, Rebekkah Brunson and Lindsay Whalen; and Phoenix's Penny Taylor.
