Switchbacks FC Welcome Back Defender Matt Mahoney for the 2024 Season

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that Matt Mahoney would be returning for the 2024 season.

"I'm super happy to be coming back for my 4th season with the Switchbacks. I've seen a lot of growth over the past three years and love our home games at Weidner Field," said Mahoney. "With a solid core we have returning, along with new additions, there is no doubt in my mind that the 2024 Switchbacks team will reach greater heights than it ever has. I can't wait for more Saturday nights at Weidner Field."

For the past three seasons, Mahoney has made 98 appearances, netted three goals, had seven assists, and played 8,419 minutes with the club. In 2023 Mahoney posted 112 clearances, 128 duels won, and 40 interceptions. This seasoned player earned a solid spot in the starting eleven for every game he played in throughout the season.

"The organization is delighted to have Matt return for the 2024 season. He has been a massive part of what we have been doing here since the 2021 season," said Technical Director & Assistant Coach, James Chambers. "As a club, we continue to strive for excellence and Matt epitomizes that as a player and person."
