Colorado Springs, Colo. (Sunday, June 14, 2015) - Bring on the Rapids! The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC will play the Colorado Rapids in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup this Tuesday.

To get to this point, Switchbacks FC won their matches in the second and third rounds against the Harpo's FC of Boulder and the Real Monarchs SLC respectively.

On Tuesday, June 16th , Switchbacks FC will take on the Colorado Rapids for the first time in franchise history.

The match will be played at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City starting at 7 p.m.

"This is a great opportunity for our players to see that they can compete with an MLS team," said Switchbacks FC Head Coach Steve Trittschuh. "We have had a great week with three wins and the players have the focus and confidence to give a great effort."

The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is seen as U.S. Soccer's National Club Championship. It is an annual competition open to all amateur and professional soccer teams that are affiliated with U.S. Soccer, and dates back to 1914.
