
Switchbacks FC Sign US World Cup Veteran Jose Francisco Torres

Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today that the club has signed José Francisco Torres, pending league and federation approval.
"I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and for the season to start winning games," said Torres.
Torres has spent his entire career playing in Liga MX, the top division in Mexico, spending time with Pachuca, Tigres UANL, and Puebla. In his time in Mexico, he has won four Liga MX titles, two CONCACAF Champions Cup titles, one Copa Sudamericana title, one CONCACAF Champions League title, and a Mexican Cup title.
The Longview, Texas native has 26 caps for the United States Men's National Team, including starting a World Cup group stage game against Slovenia in Johannesburg, South Africa on June 18, 2010. Torres was also a member of the U.S. squad that took second place in the 2009 Confederations Cup and the U.S. national team that won the 2013 Gold Cup.
"José is not only experienced at the highest levels of the game, he is an experienced winner at the highest levels of the game. He brings exceptional talent to the group and is an incredible human being that fits our culture," said Switchbacks Soccer General Manager, Brian Crookham. "His signing is a major step forward for the club as we look to create a competitive and entertaining product."
