Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC News Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced today it had signed Caden Hickox to an academy contract, pending league and federation approval. The contract will allow the player an opportunity to train and compete at the senior professional level without affecting their eligibility to play college soccer.

"Caden Hickox has a great attitude toward the game and especially learning the game. He always asks smart questions and understands what we need from him to help in his development," said Head Coach and General Manager Stephen Hogan. "An attacking player with a great touch and composure, he has an eye for goal! We are delighted to add Caden to the group and we are very excited to see him progress as a player but more importantly a person."

Hickox, 17, is a homegrown native of Colorado Springs who has played soccer since age five. A member of Rush Pikes Peak since 2013, he is eager to grow himself as an athlete with the team this season.

"I'm so excited and honored to sign for my hometown! Colorado Springs is an awesome place and has been my home my whole life. This is a start of something special with an amazing club!"

Hickox will join the team for regular practices as well as be eligible for selection for match eligibility for any matches the team plays during the rest of the season. We are excited about what this means for the development of the club and its academy programs, and look forward to seeing Hickox compete with the club.
