Colorado Springs, CO - The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC extended their unbeaten run to seven games with a 0-0 draw on the road against the Real Monarchs SLC on a rainy night in Utah.

In a tight first half, the best chance fell to the Switchbacks as they held possession of the ball in the attacking third and Sebastian Anderson's shot from distance was saved.

The Switchbacks press forced a turnover high up the field at the hour mark that led to José Torres hitting a shot just high and wide of the right post from outside of the box. Torres came close again when another shot from distance forced Monarchs' goalkeeper Zac MacMath to save it out for a corner.

The Switchbacks created one last opportunity in stoppage time as Deshane Beckford fired a powerful shot that MacMath got down to make a low save.

The Switchbacks are back on the road again to take on El Paso Locomotive FC on October 13th. On October 16th, the Switchbacks return to Weidner Field to take on Rio Grande Valley FC for Soccer Ball Night, with the first 1,000 fans receiving a free soccer ball, courtesy of Comcast Business.
