Toros Set for Road Matchup against New Mexico United

EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (10-10-7; 37 pts.) travels to Albuquerque to face New Mexico United (10-9-8; 38 pts.) at Isotopes Park on Saturday, October 9 at 6:00 p.m. CST.

RGV FC: The Toros earned a 3-0 home victory over Real Monarchs SLC last Saturday at H-E-B Park. RGV grasped the lead in the 28th minute after a corner kick. Elvis Amoh followed through the play and scored his 10th goal with the team. In the 42nd minute Jonas Fjeldberg connected with Carter Manley who then headed the ball to the back of the net giving the team a 2-0 lead. In the second half Fjeldberg scored the final goal of the night through a midair shot. Overall, the Toros had 17 total shots, eight on target while Real Monarchs totaled three shots with zero on target. Tyler Deric held the sixth clean sheet of the season. Juan Carlos Azocar totaled five tackles and an interception as he played as a defender.

NM: New Mexico faced Hartford United in a mid-week matchup which led to a 2-2 draw. Overall New Mexico dominated the ball possession with 62.7%. New Mexico teammates Sergio Rivas and Devon Sandoval were responsible for the teams two goals. The team totaled 12 shots and four on target. Juan Guzman led the team with three total shots while Daniel Bruce chad two shots on target.
