Sweets Drop Game Two Behind Solid Pitching by Kitsap
July 29, 2015 - West Coast League (WCL)
Walla Walla Sweets News Release
Bremerton, Wa- The Sweets dropped the second game of three with the Kitsap BlueJackets 7-3 on Tuesday. The series is now tied at 1-1 after a game one win for Walla Walla.
The offensive woes continued for the Sweets in game two. After only two runs on Monday night, the offense put up three runs on nine hits. The defense was solid though as they did not have an error.
The BlueJackets jumped out on top early and led it 2-0 into the fourth when they exploded for four runs. Down 6-0 into the 5th, the Sweets attempted to come back with one run in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings, but it was not enough.
Jared Zill picked up the loss for the Sweets, throwing three and a third innings, giving up six runs and walking five. It was a rough outing from Zill, something the Sweets haven't seen from their right-hander often as he came in to the game with a 1.52 earned run average.
The Sweets (21-22) and the BlueJackets (18-26) will match-up again tomorrow in the rubber game at 6:35pm. That game can be heard on ESPN Walla Walla.
