
Elks Take Game 1 against the Bells 6-5

The Elks returned to Vince Genna Stadium Tuesday after a 9 game road trip and defeated the Bellingham Bells 6-5 in front of 2632 fans. Billy King had a big night at the plate going 3-3, scoring 2 runs and an RBI. Tyler Davis continues to drive RBI's across the plate and added two more to his league leading total of 45 RBI's for the season.
Jordan Wilcox started for the Elks and threw 6 complete innings facing 27 Bells striking out 7 and walking only 1. He was responsible for all 3 runs plated by the Bells. Jacob Bennett came in from the bullpen an was unable to retire any Bells before Head Coach Trey Watt brought in Harrison Pyatt, who faced 6 and gave up 3 hits and 2 earned runs. Daniel Bies finished the game for Bend going the final 1.2 innings, striking out 4 of the 7 Bells he faced. Pyatt got his 3rd win of the season and Bies collected his 3rd save.
The Elks now have a season record of 31-11 and continue to lead the South Division by 7.5 games over the Corvallis Knights and are now 11 games ahead of the Medford Rogues. The Elks have a double header set for Wednesday against Bellingham with game 1 set for 4:35 and the second game scheduled 30 min after the completion of the first game, most likely around 7 PM.
