
Rogues Take a Bite out of Pippins

YAKIMA, WA - The Rogues and Pippins squared off tonight in game two and needed extra innings to finish the game. Despite an early lead by the Rogues, the Pippins tied things up in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving free baseball to everyone in attendance. Things remained knotted up until the top of the 11th inning when Billy Fredrick brought in Danny Mayer to put the Rogues on top, 3-2.
Daniel Patzlaff reached base in the first inning followed by Brock Pradere. Patzlaff was brought in by an RBI single by Dan Mayer and Pradere scored on a past ball, putting the Rogues in the lead, 2-0. The Pippins crossed the plate in the third inning to make it a 2-1 game and then rallied in the bottom of the ninth inning tying the game up at 2 runs each. The tie was broken in the top of the 11th when Billy Fredrick drove in Dan Mayer with an RBI triple. The Pippins were unable to answer and the Rogues took game two, and the series, with the 3-2 win.
Dan Mayer was strong at the plate going three for five with one RBI. His batting average now sits at a healthy .333. Billy Fredrick continued his hit streak with two hits and a batting average of .333.
A.J. Dean got the start for the Rogues and went 9 innings, gave up two runs on six hits and struck out two. His ERA drops to 4.04. Justin Mulvaney pitched the two extra innings and got the win for the Rogues. He gave up no runs on two hits and struck out three on his way to the win.
The Rogues and the Pippins face off in game three tomorrow night at 7:05pm. The Rogues will be back in action at Harry and David Field in Medford for Fill the Park Friday against the Bend Elks. Free tickets can be picked up at Muchas Gracias and Country Store.
