
Sweets Drop Back and Forth Game Via Walk-Off

GRESHAM, OR- The Walla Walla Sweets (16-13) dropped a tough game to the Gresham GreyWolves (11-15) on a walk-off double in the ninth, 10-9. The loss tied the series at a game apiece.
The Sweets jumped out in front first and held a 2-0 lead before the GreyWolves found the score board. The Sweets then held a 3-1 lead into the sixth, but the GreyWolves tied it with a two-run double.
In the seventh, the Sweets took the lead again on a two-run home run by Nick Vigo (Cal State Monterey Bay). The lead would not last long though as Gresham scored three in the bottom of the seventh to take the lead, 6-5.
In the bottom of the eighth, the GreyWolves added three more runs to take the lead at 9-5.
The Sweets then tied it in the ninth inning with a three-run double by Jarren Duran (Long Beach State) and a sacrifice fly by Chris McCready (San Diego).
The GreyWolves won it in the ninth on a walk-off double with one out.
Chris Murphy (San Diego) started the game and gave up one run in five innings, but walked seven.
The GreyWolves and the Sweets will match-up tomorrow in the rubber game. Ryan Anderson (Nevada) will take the mound for Walla Walla.
