The Bells bats came alive on Independence Day, blasting the Black Bears 7-1.

The Bells received a dazzling performance from the newcomer Nick Silva on the hill this afternoon. The University of Maine product started and threw 5 innings allowing 0 runs a hit and a walk, and also struck out 8 Cowlitz batters, dominating throughout his start. Hunter Haworth then entered and tossed a sparkling 3 innings, allowing no runs on 1 hit while striking out 3. Brian Way then came in and closed the game out in the 9th.

The Bells got things started quickly in the bottom of the 1st. Gunnar Schubert got things going in the inning after he got hit by a pitch, Elijah Skipps then lined a single to left and after a wild pitch and a strike out the Bells had runners on 1st and 2nd for Danny Casals. Casals proceeded to rip a line drive to centerfield allowing both Schuber and Skipps to score, but Casals was thrown out trying to stretch his single into a double. The Bells would end the 1st with the early lead at 2-0.

The Bells added a run in the 4th, three straight singles from Ruff, Hanon, and Riker got things started for the Bells in the inning. Andru Cardenas then stepped up and hit a sac fly to center to extend the Bells' lead to 3-0.

The Bells struck for 3 more runs in the 7th. With one down Andru Cardenas got things started with a single to right, then advanced to second on a groundout. Elijah Skipps then roped a single to right to score Cardenas. Jake Vieth then stepped up and launched an absolute bomb over the wall in right center field to extend the Bells' lead to 6-0. The Bells would add another run in the eighth. Matt Ruff lined a double down the left field line. And a batter later Landon Riker lined his own double down the left field line to score Ruff.
