PITCHING MATCH-UP

Fedde: Appeared at three levels in Nationals system in 2017, including three starts for WAS

Hale: Pitched for Tulsa and OKC in Dodgers system, goinf 5-4 combined with a 4.08 ERA

LEADING OFF: The Chiefs knocked off the RailRiders 4-3 on Saturday afternoon. Syracuse took a 2-0 lead in the first off Josh Rogers, but Billy Fleming doubled home Mike Ford in the second to cut the deficit to one. After the Chiefs added a run in the top of the sixth, Gleyber Torres hit a two-run homer to left; his first home run of the season. In the top of the ninth, Victor Robles walked, stole second and scored on a throwing error for the winning edge. John Simms earned the win, Angelo Gomez took the loss and Austin Adams picked up the save. Ryan McBroom had two hits for SWB.

A FULL COMPLIMENT: Daniel Barrios was transferred from Extended Spring Training this morning and fills out the RailRiders roster at 25 men. Barrios was signed as a non-drafted free agent in 2011 and appeared at four levels in 2017, including both GCL clubs, Tampa and Staten Island. The roster was at 24 for Saturday evening's game against Syracuse after three promotions to New York yesterday.

MOVING DAY: Luis Cessa and Domingo German were recalled by the Yankees Saturday and Jace Peterson signed a Major League deal and was selected by New York. To fill part of the void, pitcher Jonathan Holder was optioned to the RailRiders and Daniel Camarena was transferred from Extended Spring Training.

MORE TO COME: Gleyber Torres home run Saturday was hit first of the season and 24th of his career. The infielder hit eight last year between two levels.

WORK SMART: David Hale will make his organization debut this afternoon. The right-hander was initially drafted by Atlanta out of Princeton in 2008 and has pitched for the Braves, Rockies, Orioles and Dodgers organizations during his career.

RISPY BUSINESS: The RailRiders didn't take a single turn at bat with a runner in scoring position until the ninth inning of Friday's game when Cody Asche doubled to lead off the frame. Scranton/Wilkes-Barre proceeded to collect two hits with runners in scoring position in the inning, including an RBI single for Zack Zehner and Abiatal Avelino's walk off three-run home run. Last night, the club was 2-3 with runners in scoring position.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME: Trailing by four runs heading into the bottom of the ninth inning, the RailRiders accomplished a rare feat in Friday's 6-5 win. In 2017, the club was just 4-44 (.083) when trailing after eight innings. Skipper Bobby Mitchell guided Double-A Trenton to just a 1-32 (.030) record in such instances.

LONG TIME GONE: Friday night was the first MiLB appearance for Oliver Perez since 6/13/2012 when he pitched for the Tacoma Rainiers (Triple-A, Seattle Mariners). Since that last appearance he had pitched in 346 games for the Mariners, Arizona Diamondbacks, Houston Astros and Washington Nationals with an 11-17 record and a 3.74 ERA. He struck out 310 batters in 255.1 IP (10.9 K/9).

OFF THE RAILS: Catcher Erik Kratz is a Pennsylvania native. He grew up in Telford, which is located 91 miles from Moosic... The RailRiders have won the IL North in each of the last three seasons... The initial RailRiders roster includes two of the top ten prospects in the Yankees system, according to Baseball America. Infielder Gleyber Torres is ranked first overall by BA while starting pitcher Chance Adams is fourth. Domingo German (16) and Cody Carroll (30) are also highly rated by the publication... Josh Rogers went five innings in a spot start on Saturday after replacing Luis Cessa in the rotation for the day.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: The Yankees topped Baltimore 8-3 Saturday afternoon. Ronald Torreyes went 3-4 and Sonny Gray notched the victory... Trenton beat Richmond 6-2. Dillon Tate earned the win with five strikeouts over six innings... Brandon Wagner homered as the Tampa Tarpons won their home opener 2-0 over Lakeland. Jonathan Loaisiga pitched five scoreless frames... Charleston's game at Lexington was snowed out. The teams will play two today.
