Greensboro Swarm News Release

GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, fell 112-95 to the Oklahoma City Blue (Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate) in the last regular season home contest at the Novant Health Fieldhouse. Greensboro slides to 15-17 on the season while Oklahoma City jumps up to 18-13.

Saturday night's contest opened as a back-and-forth affair as the Swarm and Blue traded the lead seven times in the first quarter. Marcus Garrett was an offensive force for Greensboro with 12 points in the opening period. He knocked down a three at the buzzer to give the Swarm a 33-31 lead heading into the second and was a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Similar to the previous matchup between the squads, the Blue found their groove in the second and turned the narrative of the contest in their favor. It was a physical run between the sides, but Oklahoma City gained the upper hand and outscored Greensboro 32-23 in the quarter to take a 13-point lead into the break. The Blue's Keyontae Johnson and Ousmane Dieng combined for 40 points in the first half, which included eight three-point baskets by the duo.

Oklahoma City started the second half with a 9-0 run and extended its advantage to 22 points. The Blue led by as many as 26 points in the period and carried a 90-69 lead going into the fourth and final frame.

The Swarm strung together an 11-2 run to trim the lead to 12 points, the closest margin since the first half. However, Oklahoma City answered with an 8-0 run to stretch its command back to 20 points, 100-80. Greensboro was unable to get within striking distance for the remainder of the night.

Six Swarm players finished the evening in double figures. R.J. Hunter recorded 20 points and was 8-of-13 from the floor, including four three-pointers. Garrett ended with 17 points in 33 minutes. Terrell Brown Jr. had 14 points off the bench. Two-way center Marques Bolden was 6-of-9 from the field and had 13 points. M.J. Walker Jr. notched 11 points in 23 minutes and Jeremiah Tilmon Jr. led the team with 10 rebounds.

Oklahoma City was led by Johnson, who recorded a game-high 28 points and six Blue players ended with double-digit point performances. Dieng (22 points), Adam Flagler (15 points), Hunter Maldonado (14 points), Olivier Sarr (10 points and 16 rebounds) and K.J. Williams (10 points).
