FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Sal Giardina (Lynn) drove a 1-1 pitch over the wall in right field for a walk-off home run on Saturday night, as the Fayetteville SwampDogs defeated the Wilson Tobs 5-to-4 for their third straight win at "The Swamp."In yet another instant classic at home, the Dogs walked off with a victory for the second consecutive night, after a 10th-inning win on Friday night.In a back-and-forth game that saw three lead changes, Wilson took the early 1-to-0 lead in the second inning, while Fayetteville remained scoreless until the fifth frame. Connor Obrochta (Tampa) reached base safely on an error to lead off the frame, and scored on a Zach Gawrych (Tampa) RBI single after advancing to second base on a wild pitch. Gawrych later scored his CPL-leading 20th run of the season on an RBI-groundout by Giardina.The Tobs regained the lead by scoring one run in the sixth, seventh and eighth inning respectively, making it 4-to-2 in their favor.The Dogs fought back once again in their half of the eighth, where aggressive baserunning was on display once again. Four hits were recorded in the frame for Fayetteville, with Reed Harper (Austin Peay), Mike Tauchman (Bradley), Brian Bullard (Albany) and Obrochta each recording a single.That set up Giardina to win the game in the bottom of the ninth with his team-leading third home run of the season in front of a packed house at "The Swamp."The next SwampDogs home game is on Sunday, June 17th, where fans can celebrate Father's Day with the Dogs. It's also Bring Your Dog to the Park Night, so Dad's best friend can join the whole family for some baseball action.
