Sutherland, Pridham, Greenough and Bobby Smith To Play In Alumni Game

The Halifax Mooseheads are pleased to announce the signings of 4 players for their Alumni team that will take on members of the Halifax Regional Police Sunday, August 22nd at 2pm at the Halifax Forum for the Inaugural Halifax Mooseheads Alumni game.

Mooseheads fan favourites Robbie Sutherland (99-02), Colby Pridham (05-08), Nick Greenough (99-01), along with Mooseheads majority owner and former Montreal Canadiens/Minnesota North Star Bobby Smith will all suit up for the Mooseheads Alumni team at the event. Proceeds from the Alumni game will go towards Special Olympics Halifax and the Diana Thorton Education Fund.

Sutherland, a Halifax native, is regarded as one of the hardest workers to ever put on a Mooseheads jersey. During his time in Moose Country he collected 117 points along with 225 penalty minutes. Sutherland was named #11 on the Fans' 15 during the Mooseheads 15th anniversary season, which listed the 15 favorite Mooseheads of all-time as voted by the fans.

Pridham, who hails from Alberton PEI, recorded 95 points in 121 games for the Mooseheads over 3 seasons. This past season Pridham helped lead the St.Mary's Huskies to a CIS National Championship this past season. Pridham was a highly regarded fan favourite during his time in Halifax because of his strong work ethic and leadership qualities.

Greenough, from Brooklyn, Nova Scotia made the most of his time in Moose Country by collecting over 350 penalty minutes in just two seasons. The 6'4" 225lbs forward was regarded as one of the most intimidating players to ever wear the red and green. Greenough retired in 2007 after playing in the American Hockey League and ECHL for 6 seasons.

Bobby Smith, originally from Sydney, played 15 seasons in the NHL with Minnesota and Montreal. He recorded 1036 points in 1077 and was a Stanley Cup Champion in 1986 with the Canadiens. He still holds the OHL record for points and assists in one season with 192 and 123 respectively.

Tickets for this special event are just $7, kids 12 and under are free. Alumni tickets also include admission to the Halifax Mooseheads Exhibition Home Opener against Saint John which immediately follows the Alumni Game at 4:30pm. A pre-game BBQ will take place at 1pm outside the Halifax Forum with all proceeds going towards Special Olympics Halifax. Tickets are on sale now at Antlers Merchandise Store, located in the Halifax Metro Centre across from the Ticket Atlantic Box Office.
