Sussex CF Carl Loadenthal Named Player of the Week
June 7, 2010 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Sussex Skyhawks News Release
The Sussex Skyhawks are proud to announce that CF Carl Loadenthal has been named the Pointstreak Player of the Week in the Can-Am League for the week of May 31st.
After an 0-for-4 performance on Memorial Day against the Brockton Rox, Loadenthal exploded over the course of his next five games to go 10-for-21 with one homerun, 11 RBI and three stolen bases. His 3-for-5, 3-RBI day against the New Jersey Jackals last Sunday in which he tripled, homered, and hit a walk-off single did not factor into his consideration for the award.
The left-handed hitting centerfielder is the league leader in RBI (17) and is tied for the league lead in homeruns (2) and triples (2). He is also tenth in batting (.341), fifth in stolen bases (5), second in total bases (25) and fourth in slugging percentage (.610).
Loadenthal and the Skyhawks welcome the Rox back to CenturyLink Field at Skylands Park tonight for the first game of a two-game series. Tickets for tonight's event are sold out.
