Springdale, Arkansas- Austin Schulfer pitched the final two innings for his league leading sixth save in the Wichita Wind Surge 7-6 win over the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. The Wind Surge lead the series three games to two with an opportunity to win their fifth consecutive series on Sunday.
Spencer Steer had a big night with three hits and three RBI for the Wind Surge. Wichita jumped out to an early 6-1 lead in the game. Blayne Enlow made the start and pitched for 3.2 innings striking out six in his debut.
The Naturals scored three runs in the sixth inning off of reliever Chris Vallimont to tie the game at six. Maikel Garcia scored a pair of runs and drove in two runs.
Wichita's Austin Martin's drilled a two out single in the eighth inning to bring home the go ahead run and the Surge bullpen held on for the win. Ben Gross earned the win in relief.
Notes: Andrew Bechtold extended his hit streak to seven consecutive games... The Surge have successfully completed 24 stolen bases off 25 attempts against the Naturals... Edouard Julien walked two times tonight and 10 times this week...
