Wichita Wind Surge News Release
SPRINGFIELD, MO - The Springfield Cardinals hit three home runs and defeated the Wichita Wind Surge 10-5 in the series finale. The Cardinals win the series taking four of six games and leap ahead of Wichita into third place in the division.
The Cardinals scored five runs in the second inning which included a three-run home run from Mike Antico. The Cards added a run in the third and three in the fourth inning.
DaShawn Keirsey, Jr led the Wind Surge with a pair of hits and two RBI. Anthony Prato and Alex Isola also added two hits.
Kenny Hernandez pitched six innings for the Cardinals to earn the win. Chad Donato exited in the third and inning and dropped his season record to 1-4.
The Surge dropped to 20-24 and Springfield improved to 21-24.
NOTES: The Surge dropped to 1-6 in series finales. The Wind Surge drop to 12-14 on the road and lose their fourth series of the season.
UPCOMING - The Wichita Wind Surge return home for a six-game series against Tulsa. The Wind Surge and Drillers meet in the Propeller Series and Tuesday will feature RH Blayne Enlow (2-1, 3.02) vs. Tulsa RH Landon Knack (1-0, 1.32).
