Jose Velasquez went 2-4 with two RBI as the Atlantic City Surf (6-3) completed the sweep of the Nashua Pride (0-9), 5-2, Saturday evening at the Sandcastle.

It was Nashua's 14th straight loss, breaking the previous record for consecutive losses set by Newark in 1998. The Surf, who have won four straight, tallied three runs in the fourth inning off three straight singles by Pito Ramirez, Jeremy Deitrick, and Enohel Polanco. Deitrick finished 2-4 with a double, an RBI, and one run scored.

Atlantic City's Dave Carroll (1-2), normally a relief pitcher, gave a solid effort in the starting role for the Surf, pitching five and one-third innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on eight hits. Surf relievers Mark Rutherford, Jake Chapman, and Craig Mattson shut down the Pride for the remainder of the contest. Mattson tossed a scoreless ninth for his 17th save of the season.

Nashua starter Jay Yennaco (2-3) pitched six innings and allowed four runs off six hits while striking out three and walking four. The Surf will travel to Long Island to face the Ducks in a three-game series beginning on Sunday, July 21, at 1:35 p.m., at Citibank Park.
