Little Falls, NJ - Joel Bennett (9-1) tossed a complete game three hitter as the New Jersey Jackals took game one of the doubleheader from Les Capitales de Quebec, 5-1, Saturday afternoon at Yogi Berra Stadium. New Jersey has won six in a row.

Joel Bennett (9-1) had a dominating outing. He pitched a complete 7 inning game, giving up only one run, unearned, on three hits. He walked none and struck out five, bringing his league-leading total to 101. Bennett has now won eight consecutive decisions and has the best record in the Northern League East. He also leads the league in complete games with four.

Up 1-0, New Jersey pulled out to a four run lead in the 2nd inning with the help of an RBI double by Chas Terni and a two run single off the bat of Billy Rich. The Jackals added another run in the 3rd frame with an RBI double by Todd Johannes.

Offensively for the Jackals, Terni went 2-3 with an RBI and a double to bring his league leading amount of two base hits to 21. Travis Bailey increased his lead in the extra base hits category to 30 with a double. He finished the game 2-3.
