San Diego Surf Dawgs News Release
SURPRISE, ARIZONA July 5, 2005: The San Diego Surf Dawgs received their second straight solid pitching performance in a row Tuesday night at Surprise Stadium to send the Surprise Fightin' Falcons to their sixth straight loss 4-2.
RHP Adam Johnson (3-0) gave up two runs and four hits in six innings to stop the Falcons a day after Don Graves hurled a two-hit shutout for the Surf Dawgs on Independence Day.
The Falcons, which didn't pick up their first hit until the sixth inning Monday, got on the board early with runs in the second and third innings. But the Surf Dawgs broke the tie in the sixth when Cody Clark tripled home Nick Guerra, and Matt Wheatland hit a sacrifice fly, scoring Clark.
Surprise (15-24) got a run on Greg Stevens' team-leading sixth homer of the season in the third. The Falcons also scored on Leif Ekelund's RBI single in the third inning.
The two teams will play again Wednesday and Thursday to complete their four-game series
