SAN DIEGO - The Joliet Jackhammers have sent first baseman Will Henderson to the San Diego Surf Dawgs, completing the deal for Seth Pietsch. Henderson has played with the Jackhammers since this past June.
Henderson (Beaumont, Texas) went to Lamar University and was tied for the Southland Conference lead in RBI's with 65 this past spring. In addition to his 65 RBI, Henderson hit .332 with 13 home runs and 15 doubles for the Cardinals. The 6-2, 220-pound first baseman will join the Surf Dawgs tonight in Chico.
With the Jackhammers, Henderson was hitting .281 with three home runs, six doubles and 10 RBI while spending time at first base and as a designated hitter.
