Bridgeport, CT- Anthony Chavez pitched seven strong innings, and even looked good in the eighth, but a error to open up the frame gave the Bluefish the needed at bats as they scored twice to edge AC 3-2.

Vernon Spearman led off the game with a solo home run to give the Surf a 1-0 lead. Shane Monahan opened up the second inning with his first homer of the young season, but that was all the Surf could score as the righty Brad Cornett retired 18 of his last twenty batters faced.

Costly errors by the Surf gave Bridgeport thier second win of the season and give the Surf the league lead in errors committed.

The Surf and Bluefish split the first two games and will play at 6:35pm tomorrow night before they come home to open up the weekend. You can listen to that game on 1490 WUSS.
